beautiful writing. i agree: one person at a time is how the world becomes better. so much resonance here for me in this thoughtful essay. i also like the depiction of the pledge of allegiance as america’s tinder profile and the importance of us dedicating ourselves to making its proclamations more true. i too grew up in an alcoholic home. thanks for sharing.

Greatly written truths 🙏 and needs to be expressed as passionately you have. To not help a child feel safe is a crime to humanity xx Thank you xx love you xx

Thank you for articulating what so many of us feel, especially this: "If you feel despair, congratulations, you’re still alive, you’re awake, you’re paying attention." It's such a delicate balance, though. Pay too much attention and you will lose your will to live...sending you strength and hope.

Thank you so much. I suspect there are a lot of people feeling this way, these are such painful times. Definitely helps to know you’re not alone, though. Sending hugs and love across the interwebs 🤍

Oh Ally I absolutely loved this. I saw the notification about your new post and I felt joy. Though I feel a bit sad now, I feel you. I suppose I should write a blog post about it, how I feel as I don't want to make this comment too long! I also wanted to tell you that I posted you a letter to your Yoga studio, because in the past two years I have been working 12 Step Program on and off and I definitely realised I need deeper connection and I wanted to say thank you for writing. I truly appreciate you making this effort and I cherish your words. You're right, the world is fundamentally broken, but hey, you made me smile a bit more today, surely that's something 😊🥰. Namaste.

Thanks so much for your comments, Peter. I’m so glad I could make you smile, that’s more than something :) And I will look forward to your letter, actual letters are so rare these days and so much lovelier than a mailbox full of bills! Sending you lots of love from this broken part of the world 🤍
