I was out of town for 3 days for the production of a musical play I collaborated on with 2 cousins. We depicted honest history and music of America. I was involved for over a year and my cousins who are brothers worked on the idea for about 2 years. I think we made an impact and if the 600 people in a small town who saw it talk about it and learn from what we shared that is enough for me. I was the script writer and I can’t tell you how happy and proud I was to see actors speak my words. Then I wake up to see photos and videos of part of the White House being demolished. Sometimes it is so hard to have hope.
Mary, that sounds incredible and I wish I could have seen it. Please, please do not let these parasitic fuckweasels steal your joy and sense of accomplishment. You did something important and meaningful and you made a difference.
And it’s not 600 people, but every person each one of those people will tell, or the way they’ll carry what they saw and heard in their hearts. It’s a huge thing.
I felt physically ill when I saw the demo at the White House, and unsurprisingly I’m writing about it, but screw them royally, Mary. When I was in my twenties I dated a terrible guy. Who am I kidding, I dated a couple of terrible guys in my twenties, but the one I am thinking of had this mother who called him every night. He was older and it was weird. Anyway she was scary af and you did not want to cross her and one of her favorite lines when she didn’t like someone was “fuck them where they pee.”
Now Mary, I don’t know what that means tbh. At the time I was horrified because it just sounded so graphic and awful. But you know what? Fuck them where they pee, Mary. Sending you a lot of love and solidarity. And hugs.
