I love this so much:

"Maybe you can set up a Neighborhood Watch not just for ICE, but so you get to know your neighbors and they get to know you - and realize you care, and they’re safer than they think. Be kinder to everyone you meet."

And I love the creativity of "icy conditions." Brilliant.

Grateful, as ever, for everything you're posting in these unbelievable times.

Thank you so much, Rob, truly. The other night I realized there are things I could be doing “closer to home” that would be helpful. I have a neighbor I keep an eye on - he’s elderly and lives alone so I get him groceries when he needs them and take him to the dr, etc, but I started thinking about the Community Garden idea. There’s one a few blocks away but I don’t know how they’re set up so I reached out, haven’t heard back yet. I think things are going to get really tough for a lot of people. I want to see if I can volunteer in the garden and/or if there’s a way to organize drop-offs for people who need them. Like meals on wheels but neighborhood-driven. It got my wheels spinning. And the Waze thing isn’t all mine - I had the ICE Block app on my phone because they have been circling the high school 😔 and it’s a way to alert people, but now that those apps have been removed I saw people saying you could alert in Google maps. I don’t have a weather overlay there, though. But I figured out how to do it in Waze, so 🤷🏻‍♀️I dunno. Just really trying to brainstorm. We are smart but I don’t think we’ve been organizing on the ground and in our communities enough. That’s how it seems to me, anyway. Hugs to you!
